Crystal's milestone

it's been quite sometime i didn't write about Crystal's milestone.

Crystal is now 3 years 10.5 months.

103cm

16kg (slim .. hehehee..) 

loves to draw

loves to sing and dance

loves to create her own song lyrics or nursery rhymes  

can eat by herself, but moody .. sometimes wants mom to feed her

after having a meal, she will bring her bowl and spoon to the sink (often without reminding) 

can do addition with 3 numbers e.g. 8+3+5 

she knows if 5+5=10 then 5+6 = 11 and 6+6=12 (without using fingers to count) 

can also do subtraction 

can count from 1 .. 100

can do back-counting a lil bit (from 20 to 1) never asked her to try from 100 to 1. 

can write her own chinese name (nickname or complete name) and daddy's name. 

can write a,b,c .. z  (but stil cant completely memorizing the sequence) 

again ..  we always teach her if only she wants to learn something. we never urge or push her. like writing her own chinese name, it's herself that wanted to write it without any of us asking her. 

learn do-rem-mi .. can sing the do-re-mi of are-you-sleeping 

can dial mom's mobile number (11 digits) 

when using the computer or watching kid's tv programs, if mom reminds her to give some rest for her eyes, she will listen and do as mom's suggestion.  

mom usually will say like this, "Jing-jing, remember to give some rest for your eyes. you decide by yourself when the right time is for turning off the computer. mom will not order you to turn off." 

if she turns off, mama will praise her and say, "that's great girl, my dear! you know when to turn it off by yourself, without mama has to order you to stop."

most of the time .. it really works!

i never have to be impatient because she won't listen, won't turn off the computer or tv. 

give your kids a freedom (and let them know it) to decide to do something for themselves. they will be pleased to do it, without you being have to push them.  

never being stingy, always share with Smarty and Angie.  

sometimes she teaches Angie to say some new words. 

never wants to ride a swing (ayunan) .. she is afraid! 

knows quite well the concept of day .. monday, tuesday, wed,... and so on. 

can tell the time by hours (e.g. 1 o'clock .. 2 o'clock ..)  mom haven't taught her the minutes concept. (*again .. not in a hurry!*) 

still beat Angie sometimes .. in case Angie grabs her things. so mommy teaches her, "if Angie wants your thing, you give a similar one to her. so you both can play together." 

though sometimes she forgets.. but she does 'learn'! 

when she is drawing something, Angie wants her pencil color in her hand, Crystal could take one with different color and give to Angie. the same case when she is playing with other things. 

can take care of Angie. in the past, when Angie was putting small thing into her mouth, Crystal would quickly take it out or tell mom that Angie was 'eating' something. if Angie pees somewhere not in the potty, if Angie climbs a stool, Crystal will inform mama. 

thanks, my dear... your are a great sis and mom's great helper!  

if mom asks her to do something like drink water/milk, have dinner, brush teeth, etc., she usually will come immediately by saying, "i'm coming." so mom doesn't have to scream all the time. mom told her: "whenever i call you, please say that you are coming, so i can know that you have heard my voice. otherwise, i may think you don't hear my voice and i need to call your name with louder voice, again and again, that will hurt my throat."  it works! 

mama always wants you to grow healthy and happy, my dear. 

whenever you are happy, mama is surely happy. 

to see you both laugh .. is the most joyous thing in the world! 

another thoughtful lil girl

trash bin

one day grandma was sitting on the couch, watching tv, with some fruit peel on her hand. 

Angie with one hand holding her milk bottle, with her lil foot, she kicked the trash-bin bit by bit to where grandma was sitting. 

using her other hand, she tried to get the peel to be thrown into the trash bin. at first, grandma thought Angie was interested in eating 'something' on grandma's hand. then grandma saw the trash-bin and knew Angie''s intention. so she put the peel into the trashbin. 

again with her lil foot, she kicked the trash-bin bit by bit to its original place. 

grandma is always happy to repeat this story. mommy has heard this for about 5 times. lol! 

meal time

during meal time, Angie will climb by herself onto her dining chair. if mommy hasn't put her bowl and spoon on the table, she will remind mom by pointing to the kitchen cabinet, saying:  "wan..wan...!" (bowl). then she'll call her sister: "jie-jie, he-han!" (should be: jie-jie, chi fan! sister, have your meal!)

mommy usually always reminds Crystal to call grandpa and grandma to have meal. so, now mommy can also ask Angie to call grandpa, grandma, and others to have meal. 

she is surely happy to say it! 

垃圾桶

有一天奶奶坐在沙发上看电视. 手上拿着果皮. 

当时齐齐再拿着奶瓶喝奶. 小脚把垃圾桶慢慢的踢到奶奶跟前.

用另一个手要把奶奶手上的果皮往垃圾桶扔.

一开始奶奶以为齐齐把果皮当吃的 (齐齐有点好吃 .. 呵呵!)

一看到垃圾桶，奶奶明白了，把果皮往垃圾桶扔．

齐齐又用小脚把垃圾桶慢慢的踢到原来的位子．

吃饭时间

吃饭时，齐齐都要自己爬上自己的餐椅．

要是妈妈还没把她的碗和勺子拿过来，

她会指着厨柜提醒妈妈说："碗 .. 碗　..!"  

然后她会喊: "姐姐, he-han!" (发音还不准，其实她想说: 姐姐，吃饭!) 

平常妈妈尽量提醒晶晶喊爷爷奶奶爸爸或其他大人吃饭的．

现在也可以叫齐齐喊其他人吃饭了．呵呵！　

fine sunday

i think it's very common when a kid mimics her/his siblings. that happens to Angie (and Crystal too). 

when Crystal climbs the back of our couch .. 

when Crystal climbs onto our bed ..

when Crystal whispers at mommy's ear ..

when Crystal brushes teeth and rinses mouth ..

when Crystal draws pictures .. 

when Crystal walks with her arms behind her back .. 

when Crystal kisses mommy or daddy ..

Angie will do the same. 

compares to 2.5 years ago, Crystal now has a more 'girlie-comrade'  =)  

Angie likes to take plastic bowls, plates and spoons from our kitchen cabinet. so with Crystal they'll play cook-feed-and-eat. 

not always played ultraman, monkey king, monsters .. as she did with Smarty before Angie was born. 

Angie's potty-train .. almost successful

1 year 5.5 months (10 kg, 80 cm)

it's Angie's great milestone! 

from the kitchen, mommy heard Angie said, “niao-niao” (means pee), and some voice from plastic potty when she stood up. 

mommy came to see and found some urine in the potty. 

we always empty the potty once it has been used by Crystal or Angie. 

also found there was a bit of urine on the floor. 

she already had a bit pee by standing up, then she went to the potty. 

mommy gave Angie an applause and said she was a great girl to pee on potty . 

Angie was very happy! 

another hour later, she again went to the potty and said, “niao-niao”. 

mommy was still in the kitchen, quickly came to Angie who had gone to the living room.

again mommy gave her an applause and said she was a great girl. 

she smiled happily!! 

after dinner, Angie was playing with Crystal on the bed.

mommy brought in the potty and said to her, “Angie, have some pee.”

she immediately climbed down from the bed, and sat on the potty. 

after that, mommy gave her a piece of wipe, and she wiped by herself. 

she has mimicked her sis for doing it! 

as always, mommy never forgot to give compliment. 

Great job, lil girl ! 

Angie has worn diaper all the time during last winter. otherwise we may have to wash pants all the time. it's summer now .. very right time for potty training! 

we have started potty-train for Angie for about 2 weeks. 

next step mommy will teach her how to strip down her pants. 

so Angie could begin to wear normal pants. 

as most of chinese kids here, at home Angie wears pants with “hole” for pee. 

i believe it will not be so difficult since she often sees Crystal doing it.

是齐齐的成长大转折点！

从厨房妈妈听到齐齐讲："尿尿!"　　

过去看，痰盂里有点尿，地上也有点。

果然齐齐前面站着尿一点，然后自己跑到痰盂坐。

妈妈很高兴给齐齐鼓掌也说："齐齐真棒哦！晓得在痰盂里尿尿了!"

受表扬了，齐齐好开心!

 

过了一段时间妈妈从厨房里又听到齐齐说："尿尿!"　　

妈妈又跑过来看．痰盂里又有尿了．

每次痰盂被齐齐或晶晶尿，我们都会倒掉．

齐齐到客厅了．妈妈又给齐齐鼓掌和表扬．

齐齐笑的好开心!

 

晚上和姐姐在床上玩．妈妈把痰盂端进来说："齐齐，尿尿了!"

齐齐就从床上爬下来到痰盂上坐．果然是尿了．

妈妈给她一块布，她自己用它擦小屁股．

妈妈从来没忘记表扬小家伙！

 

齐齐真棒哦！

 

整个冬天一直都给齐齐带尿布．避免奶奶白天要洗好多裤子，毛裤等．

现在夏天到了，正是训练在痰盂尿的时间了．

齐齐也已被训了２个星期．还经常被奶奶打屁股，哭的可伤心了！

 

下一步妈妈要开始训练齐齐自己脱裤子．

齐齐一直以来都经常看姐姐自己小便．

一般小孩模仿力都很强的．应该不会很难吧！

what is durian ?

this morning on company bus some friends informed me durian prices at Carrefour and RT-Mart.
the guy who refers me as 'filipino', joined the conversation and talked about the bad sides of supermarket and hypermarket.

i said, "we're talking about durian price. as long as the durian there is delicious and cheap. there is no much problem."
he still talked about supermarket and hypermarket.
i thought probably he didn't hear what i was saying.
again i said, "we're talking about durian price."
this was repeated for 3 times.

at the end he said, "what is durian?" wanna ROTF!

a guy from purchasing department said, "there is water in his brain. he always talks about something out-of-topic."
it means we must dip our brain into water first, in order to get connected to him.

i don't mean to be rude, but my friend's statement straightly reminds me to this ...

i'm the only foreigner in my office. most people know i'm indonesian. although some mix-up with malaysian.

but, there is one manager who always thinks i'm a philippino.
i always politely correct him, that i'm indonesian.
this happened so many times that one time i couldnt bear anymore!

we were at Guangzhou for training program.
one day, we went to indonesian restaurant to dine.
on the way home, he still thought (oh my GOD!!!) i were Philippino.
i said to him in kinda impatient tone, "could you please pay more attention next time? i'm not Philippino. i'm indonesian, that's why i recommended indonesian restauran tonite."

lately, again, he still thought i were from Philippine.

arrrrgggh.... freakest of the freaks!

ngomongnya, "ntar gua ganti yah."

tapi mbok manajemen diri yang betul.

reach the moon

one day we played at the park.
it was dusk. the crescent moon already came out.
i pointed the moon to Angie.
she climbed up my body and
happily tried to catch the moon with her lil hands for several times.
my lil darling, hope one day you could "catch" the moon when you grew up!

有一天, 我们在安居苑广场玩.
太阳已落下了,月牙也已出来了.
齐齐往妈妈身上爬.
快乐的好几次想把月牙抓到她小手里.
妈妈的小爱爱,
希望有一天你会'抓' 到月亮哦!

selamat jalan, Selvi!

lagi sebuah berita duka cita.

Selvi Yanti (GP'96), adik kelasku, sang anak ajaib, telah berpulang ke rumah Bapa di surga. 

penderitaanmu sudah diambil-Nya, Sis. aku yakin engkau sudah bahagia di sisiNya. 

sayang sekali waktu melahirkan Angie di jambi, Oktober 2007 - Feb 2008 gak sempat bertemu dengannya. suaminya, Johan (GP 95), adalah juga adik kelasku, kala kuliah dan kala SMA, yang kebetulan juga adalah teman SMA adikku. 

setelah kembali ke Hefei, baru aku tahu dari Novi (GP'96), bahwa dia mengidap kanker kronis. dengan vonis tidak bisa disembuhkan.

aahh.... ada rasa sedih yang mendalam kala mendengar kabar di fb sabtu malam kemarin.

Fozi Ling Reservoir 佛子岭水库 (2 May 2009)

Fozi Ling Reservoir or Mountain Fozi Dam is located in Huoshan county, Lu-An District, Anhui Province. 

it was designed with the international advanced level with mainly functions for flood control, combined with irrigation, power generation and for transportation purpose. 

the project started in January 1952, completed in November 1954 (2 years and 10 months). visited by Mao Zhidong in 1954. 

The reservoir total capacity is 496,000,000 cubic meters.

the place is awesome, beautiful and amazing!!!
the forests are beautiful, the water is so clean !!! i almost wanted to drink it directly, if there were not too many people played near the water.
reminded me to the school time memory .. where mountains, trees, waterfalls, rivers ... were all my best friends!

we didn't bring our dig-cam. some pictures taken by my Sony Ericsson W550C. very little pic of Angie 'cause mostly she was with me. some other pics are in my husband moto. haven't downloaded them yet.


there are 9 waterfalls on the mountain. however, by bringing Angie and Crystal with us, i didn't go to the top, so only saw 2 waterfalls. if have chance, we will surely revisit in the future.

loncat dari jendela

dua hari yang lalu papa dan mama mertuaku cerita .. 

Smarty pulang dari TK sempat ngobrol2 sama opa.

terus kira2 dia bilang gini: 

kalo papa marah-marah terus ke aku, 

nanti aku loncat keluar dari jendela! 

Masya-Allah!!!! 

ini anak baru umur 4 tahun 8 bulan, kok bisa berbicara begitu? 

dari siapakah atau dari manakah dia mendapat ide seperti ini? 

aku agak shock juga mendengarnya!!! 

opa dan oma pun agak ketakutan juga mendengar dia berucap seperti itu. 

soalnya di china kan rata2 tinggal di apartemen.

kami di lantai 4.

papa mama Smarty tinggal di lantai 6.

gimana coba kalo si anak sampai meloncat dari jendela!!! 

Papa Smarty memang bermasalah dalam hal mendidik anak.

metode dia selalu sama, 'marah-marah, membentak kadang memukul' terhadap apa saja yang diucapkan atau dilakukan Smarty, yang menurut dia gak bener. pernah satu kali dia memukul kepala Smarty dengan telapak tangannya. bikin esmoni!!!

dia sepertinya kurang mengerti bahwa anak-anak sebenarnya bukan sengaja melakukan suatu, hal yang menurut kita orang dewasa, 'gak bener'.  bisa saja karena mereka memang belum mengerti. 

kala Smarty berbicara dengan agak gagap, langsung kena bentak. padahal dia sendiri bicara adakala juga gagap (mungkin Smarty mencontoh papanya). 

kala Smarty belom bisa memegang pinsilnya dengan benar, langsung kena bentak. padahal papanya aja yg gak bisa memberitahu dengan efektif. buktinya, setelah aku ngasih tau, gak sampai 5 menit, Smarty udah bisa memegang pinsilnya dengan benar.

kala Smarty mulai malas menulis angka, langsung kena bentak.

kala Smarty mulai "berbohong", langsung kena bentak. sebenarnya karena Smarty sedang gak ingin minum air putih pagi ini. 

masih banyak lagi.

tiap kali aku mencoba mengingatkan papanya Smarty, selalu dengan menggunakan jurus: 

"dari search di internet ... bilangnya kalo anak gagap dalam berbicara, jangan malah dibentak... kudu ...bla..bla..bla..."

"di internet dikatakan, kala anak berdusta, cara kita menyikapi  bla..bla..bla.." 

angie 17 months

Angie is 17 months now.

i very seldom measure her height and weight. 

can say many words now. 

can say simple sentence: want milk, grandma-good morning, mama-good night, mama sit down, mama open, how are you auntie "a-yi, hao!", grandma-pour this, thank you, i love you "wo-ai-ni". 

can ask her big sister to have meal. 

has 16 teeth.

likes to climb a stool, couch or bed, and staircase. 

likes to do everything by herself. 

sings with her own way.

sometimes counts 1,2,3 and 7,8,9 

likes to mimic her sis brushing teeth. 

likes to mimic her sis crying sometimes

likes to 'talk' on the phone with her daddy.  

likes to climb to her dining chair. 

likes to wear bigger shoes  

can understand almost everything that we talk to her.

can point out place where she pees.

taking off her own shoes ... 

and in action with a bag and cousin's big shoes 

will always demand us to open 'she-suspects'-as-snack packaging by saying, 

"open ... open .." 

can turn off the tv, cable-tv set, and then the extension cord. 

can eat rice by herself, bit by bit. 

can remember things if we ask her.

just like last nite, i was looking for her cup and then asked her, then she pointed to the Air Cond, where her sipping cup was.   

but doesn't like we carry her for pee. because she has worn diaper during the whole winter. 

i think it's about time for a potty train. but seems Angie will be a more diffcult case compare to Crystal.  

yesterday we went to the park, OMG .... she was rolling on the ground!! 

actually i would just let her. somehow, many eyes looked at us. 

but nobody said anything. 

hahaha ...  i thought i had to pretend saying, "get up .. get up .. it's dirty." 

mimpi juga

*gara-garanya apa yah bisa mimpi .. kayaknya sebelumnya sempat kepikiran sesuatu yang ada kaitannya sama ibu ini ... masih berusaha mengingat ..* 

semalam mimpiin ibu yossy nih!

kita ketemu di atas kapal.

bu yossy pakai seragam PT Telkom, ditemani suami.

lagi nyatet-nyatet apa gitu.

terus kita jadi ngobrolin sesuatu..tapi lupa.

dalam mimpi sempat nanya kabar tiga-jagoan. 

habis itu ntah mau lanjutin perjalanan ke mana. 

terus lupa kelanjutan mimpinya gimana ... 

pas bangun jadi ingat .. lho .. ini berbalas-mimpi yah..!  

yos, yuk .. bareng-bareng beli nomor undian ... wakakakakakak!

writing name 自己写名字

Smarty's kindergarten has required the students to learn writing their own names. i think this has given some certain impact to

 Crystal. 

for her own nickname Jing-Jing (Crystal), she already could write it for quite some time, bcoz it's pretty much easier (the lowest one in the pic). 

mama never teaches Crystal to write her full name bcoz mama thinks it's not the time yet. however, on saturday, Crystal said she wanted to write her own name. mama saw she had written the upper part of her middle-name (hui).

mama showed her how to write the lower part of 'hui', also how to write 'liu' and 'han'. 

she sometimes wrote th

e lower part of her mid-name  below the 'liu'. 

whenever Crystal wanted to (and then could) do something new, mama always feel very happy. 

she also asked 

mama to write A B C .. Z. and she wrote by herself from A to Z.

for writing, mama almost never leads her hand.

she always wants to write by herself. 

as usual, mama always encourages her to try to do something by her own. teach or show her if only she couldn't do it. 

good job, lil girl ! 

聪聪班要求小朋友学写自己的名字。多多少少这影响到晶晶。

妈妈觉得不着急要教晶晶那么早。

但是星期六晶晶却说她要写自己的名字。

妈妈看到她己写了 “彗”。

 

从来没人教过她的。妈妈感觉好惊喜！

 

妈妈就教晶晶怎样写 “心” 字在 “彗” 的下面。

然后再教晶晶写 “刘” 和 “晗” 字。

晶晶有时把 “心” 字都写在 “刘” 字的下面。

 

妈妈看到晶晶已会了写自己的名字, 

感觉到好开心。。好骄傲！ 

 

晶晶也叫妈妈写 A B C .. Z。

在妈妈的字下面自己写 A 至 Z。

晶晶学写字从来不用大人掌握着她的手。

就是喜欢自己写。

 

妈妈喜欢鼓励晶晶什么事情都自己尝试。

不会时，妈妈才教晶晶怎样做。

所以老师都表扬说晶晶的动手能力特强。

晶晶真棒哦！

when someone blames you

when someone makes mistake ..

and makes other people think that you are the one to blame for his/her mistake ...

it will take a very huge effort and self-control to tolerate and remain silent.

while actually you could easily speak out and point out

to everybody where the mistakes come from.

but anyhow .. you'd better remain silent.

bikin ill-feel !

.. it's life !

当有些人做错事 ...

而且让其他人以为责任是怪在你身上 ...

需要很努力的自我控制，容忍以及保持沉默。

其实你很容易可以说及指出来谁是错的。

但是的确你就是必须保持沉默。

好难受！

kindergarten open-house day

happy Earth Day!

ada open-house di TK-nya Crystal. Salah satu wali kudu hadir. kali ini mama yang datang. It’s so much fun! Anak2 lucu-lucu semua. Ada beberapa yang nangis2, takut ditinggal mamanya.

Waktu sessi origami, Crystal yang pertama menyelesaikan kerjaan origami sederhananya, tanpa campur tangan sedikit pun dari mama. Bu guru Cai menempelkan hasil karya Crystal bersama hasil karya 4 anak lainnya di papan tulis sebagai contoh.

Waktu sessi bermain, bu guru Cai bilang, "Crystal punya kemampuan motorik tangan yang luar biasa, dan sangat cerdas." Terus asisten bu gurunya juga bilang, "Crystal anak baik dan gampang diatur. kata bu guru Cai dan Chen, Crystal cerdas, gambarnya bagus, berhitungnya bagus.. bla..bla..."

duh .. hidung mama sampai kembang kempis !

dari sejak mama datang, Crystal tetap melakukan apa-apa sendiri: cuci tangan, minum, pipis, turun tangga, dll. mama hanya ngelihat dari samping atau dari luar kelas. waktu bu guru bertanya, Crystal juga ikutan tunjuk tangan. Walaupun gak dapat giliran jawab, soalnya anaknya banyak, satu kelas nyaris 40 anak.

ada beberapa anak yang nangis-nangis sejak tiba di kelas sampai saat papa mama atau kakek neneknya pulang.

Crystal gak nangis sama sekali. waktu mama kudu berangkat ngantor, Crystal melambaikan tangan dan say-bye ke mama. waktu di rumah Crystal bilang,

"sebenarnya tadi siang aku nyaris nangis. tapi gak jadi."

sampai di kantor, dengan bangganya, mama langsung lapor ke papa pengalaman hari ini.

今天是晶晶幼儿园的开放日。要求爸爸、妈妈、或 爷爷、奶奶参加。

这是妈妈第一次参加这个活动。前面是爸爸参加过的。

在幼儿园妈妈看晶晶排队、玩、做操、折叠与画小狗、唱歌、跳舞。

挺好玩的！所有的小朋友都好可爱！

晶晶可以算是第一个完成折叠与画小狗。

蔡老师还把晶晶和几位小朋友完成的小狗

贴在黑板上给其他小朋友和所有的家长看。

在玩的时候，蔡老师跟妈妈说：

“晶晶的动手能力特别强。也是一个很聪明的小孩。“

沈阿姨也说道：

“晶晶很好带，蔡老师和陈老师都说晶晶好聪明，画画好数学好。“

妈妈听了心里面都啾啾的。。呵呵！　

晶晶从一开始什么事都自己完成：

洗手、喝水、解小便、下楼梯等。

妈妈只在旁边或教室外看着。

老师发问时晶晶也敢举手。只不过班上小朋友多所以没被老师请到。

晶晶班有几位小朋友从一开始家长送来就一直哭到家长走掉。

但是晶晶很好，妈妈要上班时很乖的跟妈妈招手，一点也不哭。

晚上在家里晶晶说：“其实我也差点点要哭了。“

到了单位 妈妈立马就给爸爸打个电话，说一下晶晶今天的表现。
