warning: sandal karet crocs & tiruannya
sandal2 ini memang cantik dan enak dipakai.

Vicks VapoRub, use in infants and toddlers, may cause respiratory distress

maybe some of us ever read or got forwarded mail from the internet regarding the use of Vicks VapoRub that can help stop a night coughing in a child.
"Works 100% of the time and is more effective in children than even very strong prescription cough medicines. In addition it is extremely soothing and comforting and they will sleep soundly. I heard the head of the Canada Research Council describe these findings on the part of their scientists when they were investigating the effectiveness and usage of prescription cough medicines in children as compared to alternative therapies like acupressure."
however...
Researchers have found that by putting Vicks VapoRub under the nose of infants, it can cause breathing problems. A new study has found that it is very important to use this P&G product properly. Researchers from Wake Forest University School of Medicine has found that those who do not use it correctly can spark respiratory disease in kids under the age of 2. When it is used under the nose, it can cause swelling and mucus build-up. This can thus block the airways of the infants causing breathing problems.

don't do it ... Microwaving Water!
i might do it ..! thanks to my friend, Darwin, who posted me this!
A 26-year old man decided to have a cup of coffee. He took a cup of water and put it in the microwave to heat it up (something that he had done numerous times before). I am not sure how long he set the timer for, but he wanted to bring the water to a boil. When the timer shut the oven off, he removed the cup from the oven. As he looked into the cup, he noted that the water was not boiling, but suddenly the water in the cup 'blew up' into his face. His whole face is blistered and he has 1st and 2nd degree burns to his face which may leave scarring..
He also may have lost partial sight in his left eye.
While at the hospital, the doctor who was attending to him stated that :
this is a fairly common occurrence and water (alone) should never be heated in a microwave oven. If water is heated in this manner, something should be placed in the cup to diffuse the energy such as a wooden stir stick, tea bag, etc.., (nothing metal).
There have been many reports of injury to people using microwave ovens to heat water to make hot drinks. Water heated in a microwave oven may be superheated and when objects (e.g. a spoon) or granulated materials (e.g. instant coffee) are put into it, the water may boil very vigorously or even appear to explode out of the container. The vigorously ejected boiling water can cause serious burns. Sometimes even the act of taking the container out of the oven and or putting it on the bench can cause the boiling.
To prevent this from happening and causing injury, do not heat any liquid for more than two minutes per cup. After heating, let the cup stand in the microwave for thirty seconds! before moving it or adding anything into it.
